Overview
Angela Blackerby is the Academic Advisor for undergraduate students in the Aerospace Engineering Department and has been since June, 2017. In addition, Angela is a certified Academic Life Coach through Coach Training EDU. Angela believes in holistic advising and loves helping students get to their goal of graduation.

In 2024, Angela was awarded the Region Seven Best of Kansas presentation at the Kansas Academic Advising Network conference for her presentation on "The Importance of Pre-Advising in Building Student Relationships."
In 2024, she was also awarded the KAAN Supportive Advisor Award for exemplary commitment to advising and advocacy for students and advisors.
In 2019, Angela was awarded the The Advising Network at Wichita State's Excellence in Academic Advising award under the New Advisor category.
In 2025, Angela became a Staff Senator for Wichita State University. She is also an active member of KAAN (Kansas Academic Advising Network) and NACADA.
In 2025 she presented at the KAAN Conference "The Emerald City of Advising: Maintaining Your Why" as a way to help motivate and encourage Academic Advisors. She also presented in conjunction with Shocker Career Accelerator on "Advising Undecided Students."
In 2024, she presented at the KAAN Conference "Building Belonging and Managing a Caseload Using Group Advising" to inform advisors on adding group advising to their useful tools.
In 2023, she presented at the KAAN and NACADA Conference on "The Importance of Pre-Advising in Building Student Relationships" to share on creating and using pre-advising worksheets.
