Choral Activities
Dr. Jeremy Moore is the Visiting Professor of Choral Activities at Wichita State University, where he directs collegiate choral ensembles and teaches coursework in music education. A proud native of Prairie, Mississippi, Moore's philosophy centers on the conviction that everyone possesses the innate capacity to sing, dedicating his work to dismantling barriers to vocal participation.
Moore holds a Ph.D. in Music Education and Choral Conducting from Florida State University. Supported throughout his academic career as a Gates Millennium Scholar, his doctoral research investigated singing self-efficacy and identity among music majors with non-vocal specializations. He earned both his Master of Music Education and Bachelor of Music Education (dual instrumental and choral track) from the University of Southern Mississippi, studying saxophone, piano, and voice.
Prior to collegiate teaching, Moore served on the Mississippi Board of Educators representing the state's southern region and was previously the director of the choral program at Hattiesburg High School. At Florida State University, he conducted the University Gospel Choir, co-conducted the Choral Union, and assisted with the Chamber Choir, University Singers, and Collegians. An active collaborative artist, he performed as a featured soloist with The Southern Chorale of the University of Southern Mississippi at the 2026 White Nights Festival in Haapsalu, Estonia, sharing the stage with the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Vox Clamantis.
Moore is an active member of ACDA and NAfME. Outside the podium, he is an avid photographer and global traveler.
