Overview

Tom Tasker teaches applied jazz trombone lessons in the School of Music. As a former Wichita State music student and engineering student, it is exciting to come back to be part of the school again. Tom spent 17 years as a music director, arranger, producer, and free lance musician in the Columbus, Ohio area and East Coast.  His primary instruments are trombone and bass.

He is currently an Electrical Engineer and Product Manager at Bosch Home Comfort Group but still enjoys playing gigs several times per month.  He and his wife Shari live in Andover and they have three sons who are also involved in music. Colton (Wichita), Caleb (Nashville), Carson (Andover). Tom also enjoys hanging out with his family and dogs, and disc golfing with his boys.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Wichita State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kansas.
