Jazz trombone
Tom Tasker teaches applied jazz trombone in the School of Music at Wichita State University. A former Wichita State music and engineering student, he is delighted to return to his alma mater as a faculty member.
Tasker spent 17 years as a music director, arranger, producer, and freelance musician in the Columbus, Ohio, and East Coast regions. A versatile performer on trombone and bass, he continues to play gigs several times a month while pursuing his professional career.
In addition to his teaching, Tasker serves as an electrical engineer and product manager at Bosch Home Comfort Group. He and his wife, Shari, live in Andover and have three sons—Colton of Wichita, Caleb of Nashville, and Carson of Andover—all of whom are active musicians. In his free time, Tasker enjoys spending time with his family and dogs and playing disc golf with his sons.
