Overview

Tracee Friess has nearly 25 years experience in communications and public relations, including 20 years at Wichita State University and the National Institute for Aviation Research.  Her areas of expertise include public relations, news and copywriting, event planning and social media.

In her role as associate vice president for strategic communications, Tracee manages communications efforts for the National Institute for Aviation Research. She also oversees efforts for additional Industry and Defense Programs, which includes the Ennovar Technology Solutions, FirePoint Innovations Center, GoCreate, Molecular Diagnostics Lab, National Institute for Research and Digital Transformation and Strategic Initiatives. 

Tracee regularly works with these organizations and industry partners to coordinate joint communication efforts and special events to showcase research and development programs and highlight university capabilities and resources. She joined NIAR in 2005 as a marketing assistant. She was previously employed as a marketing assistant for Foulston Siefkin LLP.

Tracee graduated magna cum laude from the Wichita State University Elliott School of Communication with a B.A. in communication and print journalism.
