Overview
As director of Advanced Materials Research at Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research, Rachael Andrulonis leads applied research programs in advanced materials focusing on high temperature composites and additive manufacturing. Current FAA JAMS research programs include additive manufacturing, ceramic matrix composites and other composite materials to support the safe qualification of new materials and processes. Andrulonis is also technical lead on Department of Defense (DoD) and NASA programs for advanced manufacturing development and material and process qualification/certification of emerging materials and structures for various applications. She has over twenty-five years of experience in advanced materials. She has several publications and technical reports supporting the use of advanced materials within the aerospace industry.
