Overview

Denny Deegan is the manager of the Advanced Machining & Prototyping Lab (AMP) at Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR).

With more than 35 years of experience in dimensional metrology and manufacturing quality, Denny leads advanced manufacturing operations—including precision machining, dimensional inspection, machining research, and metrology workforce development—in support of aerospace and defense programs.

Denny leads modernization initiatives focused on connecting engineering intent to manufacturing and verification through authoritative 3D model-based definition (MBD) and disciplined digital practices. He is committed to advancing dimensional metrology as a key pillar of advanced manufacturing, ensuring measurement systems, inspection data, and quality decision-making remain scalable, reliable, and aligned to next-generation production needs.
