Overview

Carrie Wyatt joined Information Technology Services (ITS) in February of 2026 as an Applications Training Specialist. She specializes in employee training on WSU's Banner student software and course schedule building platforms. 

Previously, she was Assistant to the Dean in Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS), and in 2007, accepted the position of Special Projects Coordinator in the Center for Community Support and Research (CCSR - now Community Engagement Institute (CEI)), then in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), part of the College of Health Professions (CHP), in August 2009.  She has served Wichita State University since 2000 in both Student and Academic Affairs.  Along this path, she continues to create long lasting and mutually beneficial connections. 

As a proud first generation college student, she enrolled in WSU's Master of Business Administration (MBA) program Marketing track, and was inducted into TriAlpha Honors Society as a graduate student. Her Bachelor of Science in Business Management, with minor in Art, was obtained at Emporia State University, and she completed her miniMBA at Wichita State. During her time at WSU, she has engaged in on-going courses/training and earned multiple professional development certificates and awards. In her extremely diverse background, she has awarded student scholarships, facilitated staff groups, supported faculty and student needs, managed administrative offices, coordinated various creative and technology/web-based projects and assisted in the admissions and curriculum processes, among other areas.

Employee training and supervision, office management. Track and archive academic, admissions, assessment, accreditation data. Maintain confidentiality regarding academic, employment and organization files and sensitive information.

Program, faculty and student support. Assisting faculty, staff, students with gaining access to university resources. Course schedule building, online surveys. Event planning and publicity, coordination of students, staff, partners, research teams. Provide tech triage and support to faculty, staff and students.

Communications/marketing project coordination. Website creation and maintenance, social media, news outlets. Track data analytics, reformat webpages for usability with student recruitment focus, accessibility compliance. Write articles, press releases, event photographs/video.

Managed scholarship processes and conducted award decisions, Knowledge Development workshops, assisted teams in programming activities and retreats. Leadership Initiatives Team Consultant, provided special knowledge of WSU policies and process. 

Management of academic data areas, always searching for better ways to serve students and constituents. Original co-founder of the CHP Web and Social Media Teams. Former member and previous co-chair of the CHP Technology Advisory Committee (TAC), chair of CSD Student Affairs committee and member of CSD Marketing and Student Recruitment committees. Also served several terms on the WSU Staff Senate with appointments to the senate's Web and Communications, as well as Scholarship committees, both as a member and chair.
