#WSUWeSupportU Preventing Suicide

#WSUWeSupportU began as a suicide prevention awareness campaign after counseling services were awarded the Garrett Lee Smith grant. We started with the Suspenders4Hope awareness campaign and our eye-catching suspenders shirts expressing words of support that you can wear to show that you're a mental health advocate. Then, in 2018, we launched our own evidence based suicide prevention training which Shockers can now take for free where you can learn the Share, Ask, Support Method to help someone in need.

Health, Outreach, Prevention and Education (HOPE) Services is offers a monthly session of the Suspenders4Hope Mental Wellness and Preventing Suicide Training to help individuals better identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of suicide. This course aims to help our community learn how to better recognize, intervene, and provide resources for at-risk individuals who may be struggling with suicidal thoughts.
