Reverse Transfer FAQs

How much does it cost to participate in the Reverse Transfer Project?

There is no cost to participate in the Reverse Transfer Project. Transcript costs are waived for any transcript sent to the partner college as part of the Reverse Transfer Project.

What do I need to do to participate in the Reverse Transfer Project?

To participate in the Reverse Transfer Project, students simply need to opt in at the link provided in the myWSU portal. There is nothing further that students will need to do to participate.

What if I miss the deadline to opt in?

Eligible students who have not responded to the invitation to participate will continue to receive an invitation each fall and spring semester until they choose to opt in or opt out of the project.

What if I decide I no longer wish to participate?

Students who no longer wish to participate in the Reverse Transfer Project can request to opt out by visiting the Registrar’s Office Registration Counter at 117 Jardine Hall or sending an email to TranscriptsOUT@wichita.edu from their shockers.wichita.edu email. Students requesting to opt out in person will be required to provide a valid ID for verification purposes.

What if I attended several colleges before WSU? How do you decide where my transcript goes?

The community or technical college with the most earned transfer credit hours will be the one that is selected. If multiple schools have the same number of credit hours, then the most recently attended will be chosen.

What if I want to earn my associate degree from WSU instead?

Talk with an advisor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences about adding the associate degree to your academic record. You will have to fill out an Application for Degree (AFD) for the semester you plan to complete the associate degree.

I already earned my associate degree from a community or technical college. Why am I receiving an invitation to participate in Reverse Transfer?
If you have already earned an associate degree, you will need to contact the school that awarded the degree and request that they provide WSU with a transcript indicating the degree was awarded.
