Preparing for Your Shocker’s Transition to College
Thursday, April 30 | 6 p.m. CST

College is a big step for students and families! Join us to learn what comes next after admission, how New Student Orientation and Pre-Season Programs support student success, and how your Shocker can get involved and feel connected at WSU from day one.

Navigating the First Year at WSU

Thursday, May 28 | 6 PM CST

This session is designed for families to learn what to expect during New Student Orientation and their students’ first year at Wichita State University. Learn about first-year advising, student success, and key resources to help your Shocker start strong and feel supported.
Your Shocker’s Health, Wellness & Accommodations
Thursday, June 11 | 6 PM CST

This session will cover Counseling and Psychological Services, Student Health Services, and how Student Accommodations work at the college level.

If your student had a 504 Plan or IEP in high school, this session will explain the process for accessing academic accommodations at WSU.

Supporting Your Shocker: Parent Access, Textbooks & Finances
Thursday, July 9 | 6 PM CST

Learn how billing, payments, and financial aid work, how parents can access student records, and what to expect when buying textbooks through the Shocker Store.

Your Shocker’s Basic Needs: Housing, Dining & Campus Essentials
Thursday, July 23 | 6 PM CST

This session will cover on-campus housing and dining services, helping families understand what to expect and how students can feel comfortable and prepared on campus.
