It's November! You might be struggling with the Daylight Savings (Nov 2.) time change
but we have you covered. Spring is usually worse for people, but if you are not from
the U.S. what a crazy thing to shake up your routine. It is almost time for the holidays
too! Don't forget your flu vaccine at SHS to protect you and your family from illness
during Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks. Enjoy our newsletter this month!

If you or someone you know has been impacted by the government shutdown, you don't
have to face it alone. There are community resources available to assist with daily
living insecurities not met by your SNAP or other federal benefits. The United Way
of the Plains can assist you in finding food resources, housing and shelter, senior
& disability care, health and dental care, employment & education and more.
Every fall we go through Daylight Savings Time and struggle with the time changes.

Limit light in the bedroom to sleep in complete darkness.
Exercise in the AM, not nighttime.
Sleep Profiles
Do you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep? Getting enough high-quality
sleep is essential for your wellbeing. Sleep is also super important for your cognitive
function and recollection of information you learn and continued focus. 50-70 million
people have ongoing sleep disorder. Find your distinct sleep profile and how to sleep

Are you at a loss of what to make for dinner most nights, especially healthy meals?
Here are some tips for keeping staples around your kitchen, as well as other meal
prep and flavor control from the American Heart Association (American Heart Association).
Do you know how to write a check? We have had some interesting conversations with
students at SHS about their finances lately. Check out a quick video about how to

Flu Vaccine
Student Health Services has flu vaccines available for WSU students and faculty/staff.
Cost is $25.00 plus administration fee but may be free with your health insurance
benefits (all plans are different). Financial assistance for self-pay students may
be available for the administration fee. Walk-in to the Student Wellness Center 8am-4pm
Monday through Friday for your flu vaccines before cold and flu season!
