Enhance your Shocker experience by getting involved and seeing what campus has to offer.
Campus living puts you in the middle of it all. By joining the community of Shockers who already call WSU their “home away from home,” you’ll have classes, action-packed athletics, campus activities and hundreds of new friends all right at your doorstep.
Featuring:
Student safety is our top priority. Each residence hall can only be accessed by its residents’ Shocker Cards. Residence halls have a staffed information desk and resident assistants complete rounds of the buildings each night. Guests must be accompanied at all times. In addition, safety lighting, alarm and fire suppression systems and campus-wide communication capabilities are in place. Severe weather, fire evacuation and mass-communication drills are conducted throughout the academic year.
Living Learning Communities are groups of students with similar academic or special interests who choose to live on a specific floor. By participating in an LLC, you’ll enjoy a built-in support system, personal attention and mentoring, leadership opportunities and an enhanced sense of community.
For more information, please visit the Living Learning Communities webpage.
Move-in Day is an exciting day filled with important information and fun events. You’ll have plenty of help from university volunteers to get moved in and settled into your home away from home. Check your WSU email this summer for more information about the move-in process.
For more information, please visit the Move-In webpage.
The $75 application fee is non-refundable. The $200 prepayment is refundable if you cancel your application before June 1. If you cancel after the specified contract date, there is no refund. Depending on the date of cancellation, students could also be charged a cancellation fee in addition to forfeiting the prepayment. See the Terms and Conditions of the housing contract for specific dates and charges.
For more information, please visit the Contract Cancellation webpage.
Due to the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act, federal law prevents the dissemination of student records to any third party. As a result, the Office of Housing and Residence Life is unable to provide a student’s personal information—including room number, cell number or emergency contact information—to anyone. In addition, all residence hall staff members are unable to confirm or deny the location of any student. If contacted, the Residence Life staff will notify a student to contact you.
Residents may change their meal plans to better serve their dietary needs. The deadline for submitting meal plan change requests for the Fall semester is Monday, Aug. 23 by 5 p.m. For more information regarding dates and how to request a meal plan change, please visit the Dining Services webpage.

Rhatigan Student Center, Room 208 • wichita.edu/odi
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) aims to cultivate and sustain an inclusive campus that strives for academic excellence by creating an environment that educates, empowers and mobilizes our students, campus and Greater Wichita community.
The office provides dynamic programs, which range from speakers and film showings to award ceremonies, cultural festivities and LGBTQA programming — each representing a small piece of the diversity displayed on the WSU campus.
ODI offers academic and social support for first-generation and underrepresented students, such as free one-on-one tutoring, access to check out laptops, and guidance from either a peer or professional mentor.
Ambassadors for Diversity and Inclusion are student volunteers who work to increase campus-wide participation in diversity programs, activities and understanding to build an all-inclusive campus community.
The ODI is the students' home away from home!
