Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to designate the University officials who have primary responsibility for Title IX compliance.

Preamble
Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. In an effort to put in place and coordinate efforts to comply with and carry out institutional responsibilities under Title IX, the University is promulgating this policy.

sara.zafar@wichita.eduDuties and Responsibilities: Monitoring and oversight of overall implementation of Title IX compliance at the University, including coordination of training, education, communication and administration of all related policies and procedures. Complaints of discrimination on the basis of sex that are reported to the Title IX Coordinator will be investigated. The Title IX Coordinator will receive complaints and provide information regarding available resources as well as reporting and resolution options. The Title IX Coordinator will also designate Deputy Coordinators in specific academic and administrative units to conduct outreach and provide information about addressing complaints of sex discrimination, sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, relationship violence and stalking.

If you have a complaint about gender equity in the WSU athletics programs, you should contact the Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Women's Administrator, Rebecca Endicott, who is the designee for the Title IX compliance in matters related to gender equity in the WSU athletics programs.
