Creating Life Stories

Jacie Green, Senior Educator, Department of Public Health Sciences, College of Health Professions, shares information about Connecting Generations, a Wichita State freshman first-year seminar that brings together students and storytellers to co-create Life Stories. Through these meaningful collaborations, students and storytellers form intergenerational bonds that foster mutual respect and understanding.
The SHOUT

Emily Christensen and Teri Mott co-founded SHOUT in 2024 to cover arts and culture in Wichita and surrounding communities. Their goal is to "help people across Kansas connect with the arts." They will share how to subscribe to the email newsletter, to receive the monthly event calendar, and to access reviews and stories about the work of Kansas artists, performers, musicians, dancers, writers, and creative people of all kinds.

The Monarch butterflies migrate from Canada to Mexico and back again every year. Hear of the butterfly’s arduous journeys and learn about Kathy’s visits to butterfly “campgrounds.” She will also share information about plants and practices that can make your yard a butterfly sanctuary.
Wichita Symphony Orchestra

Timothy Storhoff, Executive Director of the Wichita Symphony, talks about community outreach and shares new programming ideas for the coming year. He started his tenure with the WSO in August of 2024. He previously served as Chief Philanthropy Officer for the Winston-Salem Symphony. He earned his Ph.D. in Musicology and Masters of Music in Ethnomusicology from Florida State University.
