March 16, 2019 -- The Help Hangar partnership at Textron Aviation shows how Wichita State’s applied learning model works for students and industry. The Help Hangar was introduced in 2017 as a service to assist employees with a variety of IT-related issues. Instead of explaining your issue over the phone, an on-site Help Hangar representative meets with you directly to diagnose the issue, resolve it in the room, or puts you in touch with the correct support team to help you with your issue.

March 12, 2019 -- John W. Bardo, president of Wichita State University, died March 12, 2019. He was 70 years old.

March 7, 2019 -- Wichita State University’s School of Performing Arts will present “The Theory of Relativity”, the musical (rated PG).

March 5, 2019 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $4.2 million dollars in funding from the U.S. Department of Education to implement GEAR UP in Haysville school district USD 216 through 2025. Every student in 6th and 7th grade will benefit from GEAR UP’s college prep resources.

March 5, 2019 -- Wichita State students and the campus community now have more options to get around campus with Bike Share ICT at WSU.

Feb. 26, 2019 -- Two Wichita State Public Health Sciences faculty members are focusing their research on health equity for women in Kansas. The researchers have been approved for a $250,000 Engagement Award for their project “Women Involved Network (WIN for Kansas): Community Collaboration to Create Health Equity.”

Feb. 26, 2019 -- Remi Chou, an assistant professor in electrical engineering and computer science at Wichita State, has received a two-year, $156,000 grant from the National Science Foundation for research to ensure secure transfer of confidential information over wireless networks.

Feb. 18, 2019 -- Members of the Wichita State community came out to celebrate the new Love Locks Pod and take part in a new campus tradition.

Feb. 3, 2019 -- The installation of "pods" on campus are part of the new place-making initiative at Wichita State inviting students, employees and community members to “linger longer” on campus.

Jan. 25, 2019 -- Meet Blane 'Deadly' Steckline, the Damage Per Second player for the Wichita State Overwatch team. In addition to being a junior computer science major, Blane is also a Grandmaster-tier Overwatch player, reached rank #64 on the North American server, and has competitive gaming experience at a semi-professional level.

Jan. 18, 2019 -- A new partnership between Wichita State University and Wichita Transit will allow students, faculty and staff to ride city buses for free and travel to and from campus on weekend evenings on the Q-Line Trolley service.

Dec. 19, 2018 -- As a nontraditional student who was the first in his family to go to college, the thought of college was scary for David Bustos-Morales. But spurred on by the desire to make his family proud, he pushed through and graduated in December 2018.

Dec. 6, 2018 -- During the fall semester, WSU first-year seminar students had the opportunity to enroll in Beal’s six-credit-hour JUMP!STAR class, co-taught by Ferrandi.

Nov. 15, 2018 -- Wichita State University is participating in a massive new effort in which 130 public universities and systems will work together to increase college access, close the achievement gap, and award hundreds of thousands more degrees by 2025.

Nov. 7, 2018 -- Wichita State student Jimmy Vu, a computer science major, has been interning with Ennovar, WSU's Institute of Emerging Technologies and Market Solutions, as a software developer.
