Nov. 6, 2023 — Two Wichita State University organizations have established a solid presence in Alabama’s largest metropolitan area.

Nov. 6, 2023 — Wichita State University is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students, individuals whose caregivers weren't able to complete a college degree and who lack the firsthand experience to tackle college life. To help with their transition, Wichita State offers a number of resources to first-gen students to support them during their time in college, including F1RST GEN SHOCKERS.

Aug. 3, 2023 — The office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Logistics and Product Support has sponsored a contract through the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) to award Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) a five-year $100 million cooperative agreement for digital engineering and technologies to support sustainment of legacy U.S. Air Force platforms.

June 30, 2023 — A group of graduate students from Wichita State University’s Department of History is chronicling the history of the LGBTQ community in Wichita.

May 21, 2023 — Wichita State graduate student Billy Berue will enlist in the President’s Own United States Marine Band beginning in June. The prestigious band was established in 1798 and is widely regarded as one of the best in the world.

May 11, 2023 - Lucy Schneider, a sport management major, jumped into applied learning opportunities with Wichita State’s athletic department and will use those experiences as she pursues her master’s degree.

May 5, 2023 — The state of Kansas has allocated $4.2 million from the state’s budget (House Bill 2184) to Wichita State for need-based aid.

April 27, 2023 — A student-led research team is attempting to replicate owl feathers in its quest to create silent drone propellers. Now NASA has invested in the project with a potential award of up to $82,000.

April 25, 2023 - John Kirk returned to college at Wichita State University to study vocal music and dive into activities. April 20, 2023 — The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has chosen two recipients to receive the 2023 Professor Fran Jabara Scholarship in Entrepreneurship. This year’s winners are Kayla Atkinson from Andover Central High School and Caleb Lowry from Eisenhower High School in Goddard.
