Students in parade

Sept. 11, 2023 — Wichita State University is holding a parade next month and is inviting anyone in the community to join in. Starting at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 on the WSU campus, the parade is part of the university’s annual Shocktoberfest celebration.

June 1, 2023 — Through a new collaboration with McFarland Research and Development, Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) will expand its burgeoning military fleet sustainment research and development capabilities.

May 1, 2023 — As a designer, Wichita State's website was what caught Oluwasayo Benjamin Adekalu's eye and brought him to Wichita from Nigeria. As a student, he's learned how to hone his creative skills into building marketable products through the College of Innovation and Design.

April 27, 2023 Ayshea Banes has only just begun her educational career as she plans to pursue her doctorate after graduating from Wichita State University.

April 21, 2023 Angel Dao used her time at Wichita State to develop professionally and make connections within the industry she plans to pursue while finding time to care of her mental health.

April 21, 2023 Corri Newman is senior communications sciences and disorders major in the College of Health Professions and a member of the WSU Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (WSUSSLHA) and serves as its NSSLHA chair. After she graduates, she plans to attend graduate school to become a speech-language pathologist.

March 9, 2023 — The U.S. Army has awarded Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) a $100 million contract to advance and modernize the army’s ground transportation fleet.

Feb. 7, 2023 - Actor, digital creator and TikTok influencer Chris Olsen will speak about his rise to fame during An Evening with Chris Olsen at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the Wichita State University Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex.

Jan. 25, 2023 - The director of the National Science Foundation (NSF) visited Wichita State University last week. The Honorable Sethuraman Panchanathan toured Wichita State’s National Institute for Aviation Research, WSU Tech and the National Center for Aviation Training as a guest of U.S. Senator Jerry Moran.

Jan. 23, 2023 — A recent "PBS News Hour” story highlights the role Wichita State University plays in the arts community of Wichita. “Wichita State has a hand in almost every arts entity in the Wichita metropolitan area, from the symphony to the art museum,” said Dr. Rodney Miller, dean of the College of Fine Arts.

Dec. 15, 2022 — Betty and Art Wood shared a passion for music throughout their lives, and their legacy of supporting the arts continues through their gift of $1 million from their estate to support the Music Associates Endowed Fund at Wichita State.
