Aug. 15, 2024 - As the fall semester begins, you will notice ongoing and new construction across Wichita State’s 330-acres and beyond. Shocker Success Center is open and work is underway at the Wichita Biomedical Campus.

June 14, 2024 — Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) is adding a new capability to its portfolio aimed at growing the electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) market and attracting new business to the region and state.

May 20, 2024 - Wichita State is one of 10 teams which advanced to the spring semester competition in the NASA SUITS challenge. The team travels to Test Week in Houston at the Johnson Space Center this week. The list of finalists includes the University of California Berkeley, University of Colorado, University of Michigan, Georgia Tech, Purdue University and others.

May 03, 2024 — Christine Cleary was one of Wichita State University’s 2020 Rudd Scholars. From Clearwater, Kansas, she moved to Wichita for college, which required her to adjust to living in a city, but thanks to the Rudd Scholarship, she was able to fully devote herself to college life and will graduate with her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene.

April 22, 2024 — Wichita State University has offered the traditional educational pathways for over 125 years, typically ending at the point of graduation, but the need for learning continues throughout a person’s lifetime. In a rapidly changing world, continuing education has never been more important. More and more jobs require skill-based certification of learning, which includes the attainment of validated durable and technical skills. To meet those needs, WSU was the first in Kansas to create badge courses for non-degree seeking students in 2015, after approval from the Kansas Board of Regents.

April 01, 2024 — A professor and graduate student from Wichita State University have been awarded the 2024 John A. See Innovation Award.

March 6, 2024 — Four undergraduate students from Wichita State University were among the 18 students recognized at the 22nd annual Kansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (K-INBRE) Symposium in Manhattan, Kansas.

Jan. 8, 2024 - Wichita State University moved to No. 2 on the national list of industry-funded engineering and research and development, according to the latest data compiled by the National Science Foundation’s Higher Education Research and Development Survey.

Nov. 7, 2023 - Jacey Arnett chose Wichita State University for its physician assistant program and its campus atmosphere. Wichita State is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students.

Nov. 6, 2023 — Two Wichita State University organizations have established a solid presence in Alabama’s largest metropolitan area.

Oct. 19, 2023 — The Association of University Research Parks (AURP) has awarded Wichita State’s Innovation Campus with the 2023 Emerging Research Park Award at its annual international conference held this week.

June 1, 2023 — Through a new collaboration with McFarland Research and Development, Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) will expand its burgeoning military fleet sustainment research and development capabilities.

May 1, 2023 — Jesús Nogués came to Wichita State University from Paraguay because of the university's reputation for industry partnerships and applied learning. He was not disappointed.
