May 23, 2024 - Wichita State's Marissa Jensen is halfway through her master’s degree in exercise science. She is a two-time American Athletic Conference All-Academic selection with a 4.0 grade-point average. This week, she is competing in the NCAA West Preliminaries in Fayetteville, Ark., for a second straight season.

May 14, 2024 — Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research will receive more than $10 million from NASA for research related to the development and implementation of advanced materials for hypersonic applications.

May 10, 2024 - Senior Addison Barnard's list of academic honors almost matches her softball awards. She is one of college softball's top home run hitters and an Academic All-American as a health science major at WSU.

April 12, 2024 — As a full-time employee of Wichita State University, Gabriel Fonseca struggled to balance work, classes and a personal life while he pursued his doctoral degree; but, ultimately, the support of the university community helped him persevere.

April 22, 2024 — Wichita State University has offered the traditional educational pathways for over 125 years, typically ending at the point of graduation, but the need for learning continues throughout a person’s lifetime. In a rapidly changing world, continuing education has never been more important. More and more jobs require skill-based certification of learning, which includes the attainment of validated durable and technical skills. To meet those needs, WSU was the first in Kansas to create badge courses for non-degree seeking students in 2015, after approval from the Kansas Board of Regents.

Dec. 08, 2023 — Amanda Morales found it difficult to balance her studies while being a mother and wife and working full-time, but through the support of those around her, she was able to persist and will now graduate this fall with her bachelor’s degree in education.

Nov. 30, 2023 — Wichita State University is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students, individuals whose caregivers weren't able to complete a college degree and who lack the firsthand experience to tackle college life. To help with their transition, Wichita State offers a number of resources to first-gen students to support them during their time in college, including F1RST GEN SHOCKERS.
