AEROSPACE ENGINEERING


The College of Engineering at Wichita State University is pleased to announce the search for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor level to start in August 2022 or on a mutually agreed date. We seek candidates who will provide inspiration and leadership in research and are eager to contribute proactively to the inclusive hands-on learning environment that is a hallmark of our educational programs. The successful candidates will have an appointment in one of our engineering departments or the school of computing in the College. Faculty duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students, conducting original scholarly research, and departmental service. There are ample opportunities to build partnerships with companies both on and off campus. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in engineering, computer science, data science, or a similar discipline by the beginning of employment. We are especially interested in applicants working in the following areas: astronautics, aerodynamics, high temperature materials, computing, computer science, data science, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, power electronics, and energy systems and storage. Job Responsibilities 1. Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.2. Advising undergraduate students, supervising MS and PhD students in their theses and dissertations.3. Obtaining research funding, conducting an active research program, publishing the results of the research.4.
