WSU Tech/NCAT Campus Energy Analysis and Optimization
Our sponsor is Trane Technologies, and this project is an analysis of the energy consumption
on WSU Tech’s campus. Trane Technologies provides services that are utilized to analyze
a building system’s current performance as well as opportunities for improvement in
the overall efficiency of the building and its systems. WSU Tech requested Trane’s
analysis of their facilities to discover inefficiencies in their system.
Trane’s Intelligent Services utilize several sources of data to analyze trends in past building performance. The analyzed data consists of utility bills, weather data, and indoor air quality. By analyzing the data from these sources and coordinating with the facilities staff we located opportunities for optimization. These optimizations will result in decreased energy costs, extended equipment life, and a healthier working environment for the faculty and students.
