50 for 50: Celebrating Dr. Sam Yeager's 50 Years of Service

For five decades, Dr. Sam Yeager has shaped generations of public servants through teaching, mentorship, scholarship, and leadership at Wichita State University.

About the Campaign

Advancing the practice of public service is at the heart of the Hugo Wall School's mission. Few individuals have contributed more to that mission than Dr. Sam Yeager.

For 50 years, Dr. Yeager has dedicated his career to Wichita State University and its students. He has taught hundreds of courses, mentored countless undergraduate and graduate students, and served on numerous university committees, consistently advocating for student success.

To honor this extraordinary legacy, the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs has launched the 50 for 50 Campaign, inviting alumni, colleagues, students, and friends to make a gift of $50 in recognition of Dr. Yeager's 50 years of service.

A Legacy of Leadership and Public Service

Academic Excellence and Lasting Impact

Dr. Yeager's contributions to public administration extend far beyond the classroom. His scholarship, leadership, and commitment to democratic governance have helped shape both the profession and the students who serve within it.

One of his most significant achievements was helping establish and strengthen the Hugo Wall School's Master of Public Administration program. Throughout his career, he championed accreditation excellence, developed a rigorous and balanced curriculum, mentored faculty, and helped recruit the next generation of public service leaders.

Today, Hugo Wall alumni serve communities across local, state, and federal government, as well as nonprofit organizations throughout Kansas and beyond. Dr. Yeager's influence lives on through their work.

Supporting Future Public Service Leaders

The Sam Yeager Fund for MPA Student Success

Gifts to the Sam Yeager Fund for MPA Student Success directly support Hugo Wall MPA students through scholarships and financial assistance.

The fund also provides critical support for students facing unexpected financial hardships, helping ensure that promising future public servants can continue pursuing their educational goals.

By investing in students today, donors help carry forward Dr. Yeager's lifelong commitment to public service and student success.
