SPARK Spring Dance Concert

Wilner Auditorium

SPARK: A Dance Repertoire Concert
Space. Pulse. Art. Rhythm. Kinesis.

Igniting the stage with energy, emotion, and movement, SPARK is a dynamic evening of dance that celebrates the elemental forces that drive human expression. Each piece in this electrifying repertoire explores a facet of the acronym that gives the concert its name — from the expansive freedom of space, to the visceral heartbeat of pulse, the transformative power of art, the driving beat of rhythm, and the ever-shifting force of kinesis.

Featuring works by WSU dance faculty, local and regional choreographers, SPARK is a showcase of contemporary technique, innovative storytelling, and the boundless creativity of the human body in motion. Whether abstract or narrative, explosive or intimate, each performance ignites a dialogue between dancer and audience — a spark that lights the imagination.

Join us for an unforgettable journey through the language of movement, where every step is a spark waiting to catch fire.

Time Stands Still

Welsbacher Theatre

Entrance to this theatre is through Door F only that is located on the Southeast side of the Hughes Metroplex that is at 29th and Oliver. No late admittance is allowed.

Time Stands Still" by Pulitzer Prize-winner Donald Margulies is a riveting, deeply human drama set in a Brooklyn apartment, where photojournalist Sarah and her partner James, a foreign correspondent, attempt to heal and recalibrate after returning from the front lines of war. As they settle back into domestic life, their ideals, ambitions, and love for one another are quietly and powerfully tested. Margulies crafts a nuanced story about bearing witness to global suffering and the personal cost of stepping away. With sharp dialogue and emotional precision, Time Stands Still invites us to confront the tension between comfort and conscience, intimacy and independence, and what we owe to the world versus what we owe to ourselves.
