Continuing Students
This fall, we're continuing with our updated advising approach. As part of this updated approach, College of Fine Arts Advising Center is no longer requiring advising for all students. Instead, we are focusing on and requiring advising, for those who have historically needed additional support to thrive. This includes students who are new to our office, those who haven't completed specific course sequences, students on probation or at risk of probation, and those with active early alert flags.
Required Advising: Students who have required advising must meet with their advisor before they can register for spring courses.
Optional Advising: Students who are optional advising are not required to meet with an advisor before
they register for spring courses. If assistance is needed, advisors are more than
happy to help with course planning during a scheduled appointment. Alternatively,
if you feel an appointment is not needed, you can utilize your Degree Works Audit & SEP for additional assistance with course selection.
Please Note: Advising for spring courses cannot be conducted via email and an appointment must
be scheduled for assistance..
To determine if you have optional or required advising, please refer to the appointment request email you received.
