Kodaly Choir Camp 2023
The Treble Choir is an ensemble for students entering 5th through 12th grade. It is directed by Elaine Quilichini and is open for up to 45 students with unchanged voices.
The Children's Choir is an ensemble for students entering 2nd through 5th grade. It is directed by Elaine Quilichini and is open for up to 30 students.
- Treble Choir Camp will take place between June 5 and 9.
- Children's Choir Camp will take place between June 12 and 16.
The Treble Choir camp takes place between 9:30am and 5:30pm. Students will rehearse for five hours a day, including a lunch and two snack breaks. Campers may pack their lunch or eat in Shocker Hall at an additional cost. After rehearsals conclude there will be afternoon activities including swimming, folk dancing, bowling, and games. The final concert will be Friday, June 9 at 5:00pm in Wiedemann Concert Hall.
The Children's Choir camp takes place between 10:00am and 12:00pm. Students will rehearse for two hours a day, including a snack break and time for games and folk dancing. The final concert will be in conjunction with the final concert for the adult Kodaly workshop participants on Friday, June 16 at 4:00pm in Widemann Concert Hall. Students will have the option to stay on campus between noon and 4:00pm on Friday for an extra fee of $10.
The Treble Choir costs $220 if registered before April 15 and $250 afterward. A $50 deposit is required to reserve your spot. All final camp payments are due at orientation on June 5. An additional $50 will be added for campers who plan to eat lunch in Shocker Hall everyday. Payments can be made online. Parents may apply for one of four tuition reduction awards by completing the Application for Tuition Waiver.
The Children's Choir costs $75. Payment in full is requested upon registration.
Registration occurs digitally through the WSU School of Music Marketplace. Register before April 15 in order to receive the $30 discount for the Treble Choir. Both camps will close once they reach their enrollment limit.
A limited number of partial tuition waivers are available for needful students. Patrons who would like to support waivers for students may donate to our Crowdfunding site through the WSU Foundation.
