Confirmation of Undergraduate Admission

You submitted an Application for Degree indicating you have recently completed or will soon complete your bachelor’s degree.

This admission requirement was added because you have financial aid for next semester, but once you complete your degree, you have to be in a new degree program to receive federal student aid.

If you have a pending Pell Grant, it has been removed. You are not eligible for grants after earning your first bachelor’s degree.

If you are not going to graduate, have your college advisor change your Application for Degree date as soon as possible. When it has been updated in our system, the requirement can be removed. If your Pell Grant was removed, it can be re-added.

If you are graduating, let us know whether:

  • You want to cancel your pending aid – or —
  • You will be continuing in a new degree program and will need financial aid to continue.
    • You can add a new bachelor’s degree on your myWSU >> Home tab under Student Tools by changing your major and including a comment that you are starting a new degree. You can also contact the Registrar’s Office for help in adding your new degree.
    • To start a master’s degree, you have to apply to Graduate School and be admitted by the program and by Graduate School.

You will receive emails reminding you of an outstanding requirement until:

  • You advise us to cancel your pending aid because you are graduating and not continuing next semester.
  • You advise us you are not graduating as planned, and your pending degree has been changed in our system.
  • You advise us you will be continuing in a new degree, and the new degree is updated in our system.
