"Don't Weight" by Devin Carter
Devin Carter takes you deep into the suffering behind mental health disorders with his larger-than-life underwater scenes. Carter uses a common and uncomfortable fear—drowning—to connect the viewer with the weight behind deciding to seek help. The longer a person waits for treatment, the greater the weight of the burden.
The artist utilizes large-scale photos combined with impactful lighting to intensify the issue's weight, and immerse the viewer into his art.
Devin Carter is a junior from Jennings, KS pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photo Media.
On exhibit in The Cadman Main Gallery: Monday, Aug. 31 - Friday, Sept. 11. The exhibit is closed Sept. 5-7.
