Spreadsheets and data tables are tools to store and organize information collected from scholarly research, administrative projects, teaching, or class work. Whether you are exporting the data to other programs (such as R or Python) or keeping it in your spreadsheet program (such as Excel, Numbers, or LibreOffice), good organization is the key to making your tables useful for analysis or reference. By the end of this workshop, you should be able to: implement better practices in data and information organization; identify and address common formatting mistakes, including handling dates, numbers, and text; be aware of basic quality control features; effectively export data from spreadsheet programs to universal formats.
Host Institution: University of Oklahoma Libraries
Note: We'll stream this webinar in the Digital Scholars Commons in Ablah Library.
