Shwu Hwa Yang's statement about the exhibit, "To integrate traditional and modern cultures is when one group assumes the practices and rituals of another without sacrificing their own identity. I am not attempting transformation but integration conceptually. As an Asian international student, I possess a deep connection to my culture and embrace western art. These are the vantage points that influence my work and serve as an inspiration to me."
