About the Course

This five-day course delves into the fundamental concepts, principles, and applications of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) within the context of digital manufacturing according to the ASME Y14.41 standard. Attendees will interact with the 3D Tolerancing & Annotations workbench in 3DE.  Course price includes a workbook for use in class and future reference.

The class will cover several key topics, including 2D to 3D layout, 3D-only layout, and creation of machine-readable dimensions for manufacturing software. Using software tools, users will validate datums and tolerance frames per specification. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of GD&T principles, the application of GD&T in the digital manufacturing environments, and the knowledge and skills necessary to optimize product performance in the digital age.

Attendees should complete either “GD&T Concepts and Application” or “GPS Concepts and Application” prior to registering for this course.  Attendees should also possess a basic understanding of computer operations and have some experience using CAD software.

Attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion from WSU’s National Institute for Aviation Research.
