Founder's Day - September 17

Support Shocker Rowing and Help Us Finish First

Founders Day at Wichita State University is the annual day of giving, and last year Shocker Rowing finished second in total number of donations. This year, we have a chance to go even further — and every donor can help make it happen.

On September 17, donors will have the opportunity to make an even greater impact through matches and challenge gifts offered by the WSU Foundation. A special Student Group Challenge will award financial prizes to the top three groups with the most individual donors that day:

  • 1st Place: $1,000
  • 2nd Place: $600
  • 3rd Place: $400

These challenge funds are available only on September 17, making that date the most effective time to give.

All contributions to Shocker Rowing support athlete‑related expenses and help build our endowments, strengthening the long‑term sustainability and competitiveness of the program. Gifts to our general Foundation account can be used immediately after Founders Day or transferred into one of our endowments to support the longevity of Shocker Rowing.

How to Give on September 17

Rowing Team

During the past 50 years, Shocker Rowing has been making waves in Kansas and across the nation. Each year the team builds on the tradition of the past while striving for new heights.

Our program offers great opportunities to new students at Wichita State University on recreational, developmental, and championship levels. Whether you are an experienced high school rower or a new-to-the-sport walk-on, there is a chance for you to be part of our successful program.

As a competitive Shocker Rower you will be challenged and put in a position to compete not only for state and regional championships but also at the American Collegiate Rowing Association National Championship Regatta.
