Qualifications

To be eligible for TRIO SSS STEM, you must meet all three of the following requirements:

  • You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • You are an undergraduate student working toward your first bachelor's degree
  • You are pursuing a STEM or health professions major

Plus, you must meet at least one of these:

  • First-generation college student: Growing up, neither your parent nor legal guardian completed a bachelor's degree.
  • From a limited-income household: Income limits are based on your household size and your prior year's taxable income. We'll help you verify this during the application process.
  • Student with a documented disability: Provide verified documentation of a disability (i.e. learning, physical, and/or mental). If you have registered with the Office of Student Accommodations & Testing, they can verify your disability following your agreement in the application.

How to Apply

  • Complete and submit the TRIO SSS STEM Online Application
  • Complete the Income Verification Form 
    • Figuring out which income form applies to you:

      • If you entered your parents' financial information on your FAFSA, you're a dependent student. Forward the dependent student link to a parent or guardian and have them complete it on your behalf.

      • If you used your own financial information on your FAFSA, you're an independent student. Complete the independent student  form yourself.
