University Wide Advising Requirements
Meeting With Advisor Required
The following students are required to meet with an advisor before enrolling:
- Students who attend WSU straight from high school. Advising required before first and second semesters.
- Students who have not attended any college or university prior to WSU.
- Transfer students in their first semester at WSU.
Meeting With Advisor Strongly Recommended
It is strongly recommended that the following students meet with an advisor before enrolling:
- Current WSU students who have changed their major.
- Students on Academic Probation.
College Specific Advising Requirements
In addition to the university wide advising requirements, the following colleges at Wichita State have specific requirements for undergraduate student advising:

| Liberal Arts and Sciences | Students who have not yet reached junior standing and students who are in the Undecided LA major |
| Engineering | All students |
| Fine Arts |
All students |
| Health Professions | Students who have not yet reached junior standing and students who are in the Undecided HP major |
| Honors College | It is strongly recommended that you meet first with your major college academic advisor, but you are welcome to meet with Honors at any time. At least once per year, you should meet with your Honors advisor and especially as questions arise regarding your Honors curriculum. |
