Hello, my name is Caroline Beach! I am the Senior Student Success Specialist in the Business Student Success Center at Wichita State University. I have been with the university for just over six years. I enjoy collaborating with students and connecting them to resources to help them succeed and persist through their undergraduate journeys.

I am thrilled and deeply honored to be nominated to serve on the Staff Senate. This opportunity not only allows me to better understand and network with various departments across campus but also aligns with my passion for supporting the vision, mission, and goals of Wichita State University. As a life-long learner, I am excited about the chance to learn more about our university in new and engaging capacities. Thank you for considering me as a representative for WSU Staff; I am truly honored by this nomination.

I am honored to be nominated for Wichita State University’s Staff Senate. As a proud WSU alum and a staff member approaching five years with the University. I bring a unique perspective shaped by my experiences working in a mid‑level management role off‑campus, out‑of‑state, and directly serving the Oklahoma region. This distance from the physical campus gives me an important vantage point on communication, engagement, and support needs across our wider Shocker community.

I currently serve on the Executive Board for the Great Plains Association for College Admission Counseling (GPACAC) as Conference Co‑Chair, where I coordinate an annual conference of more than 300 higher education & counselors’ participants from Kansas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. Through this work, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with a wide network of institutions and organizations, gaining insight into how different universities operate, support their employees, and approach recruitment and retention efforts.

These experiences have strengthened my belief in the importance of staff advocacy, clear communication, and collaborative problem‑solving. If elected, I would be committed to contributing ideas that help us continue supporting staff across all locations, enhancing our workplace culture, and furthering Wichita State’s mission through strong recruitment and retention strategies.

I would be honored to serve as a Staff Senate representative and to help ensure that the voices, needs, and experiences of our employees are heard and valued throughout the University.

Currently, I work in the Office of International Education as the Associate Director for Study Abroad & Exchange Programs.  I have worked at WSU for nearly 20 years in several different positions within International Education and also the Barton School of Business.  I enjoy working with students, staff and faculty in my current role by seeking ways to improve our study abroad programs.  I work with staff and faculty across campus from many different departments and offices related to our outgoing and incoming study abroad students.

I am interested in serving on the Staff Senate to connect more with staff at WSU and collaborate to find ways to improve the experience and work environment.  I look forward to having this opportunity to represent WSU staff and am honored to be nominated.

Photo of Jessica Carter Jessica Carter

My name is Jess (Stitt) Carter and I work in the Information Technology Services Department as a Manager of Business Analysis. I began working at Wichita State in 2024 in the ITS department, but am a life-long Shocker and have obtained all my degrees from WSU.

Being nominated to serve on the senate is an honor. Having the opportunity to represent my fellow staff members while working to better understand and improve the University is part of what drives me. Part of the work I do directly aligns with the University priorities and I know that through this position, I can network more and continue to meet others within the university. Using that network and knowledge will enable me to be the best advocate for our Staff members and help bring a voice for those that may not always get to share with leadership.

Thank you for the consideration to represent our Staff. I hope to serve you well as a member of the Senate should I be elected.

Hello! My name is Morgan Davis. I am truly honored to be nominated for Staff Senate. This opportunity would allow me to bring my passion for supporting others and building connection to a larger campus community, and I would be grateful for the chance to contribute in this meaningful way.

Hey! My name is Zoё Lane, and I am so grateful to receive a nomination for Staff Senate. I serve as a Community Programs Specialist with the Public Policy & Management Center (PPMC), and while I've only been in this role for just over a month, this is actually my second stint at the University. I previously spent two years here as a Graduate Research Assistant with the PPMC while completing my Master of Public Administration degree through the Hugo Wall School. Needless to say, it is wonderful to be back.

Prior to rejoining WSU, I spent three years as a Training Specialist for Sedgwick County Human Resources, where I witnessed firsthand the power of collective staff voices in shaping organizational culture. The opportunity to amplify staff voices and partner with leaders to develop meaningful solutions was deeply rewarding. I would be honored to bring that same commitment to this organization, and I thank you sincerely for your consideration.

I have been at Wichita State for 28 years in numerous positions in both recruitment and retention.

I am interested in serving because I am deeply committed to supporting a collaborative and transparent campus environment where staff voices are meaningfully represented in institutional decision-making. In my role as Director of Student Success, I work closely with staff across divisions and roles, and I consistently see the critical impact staff members have on the student experience, persistence, and success. I value service-oriented leadership and believe effective institutions are built when staff feel informed, heard, and empowered. As a senator, I would approach this role with a strong sense of responsibility, a willingness to listen, and a commitment to representing staff concerns with care and clarity.

If elected, I hope to help Staff Senate connect staff perspectives to institutional decision-making and support continuous improvement efforts that enhance the staff experience.

Since then, I have worked my way up the “corporate ladder,” and it seems WSU just can’t get rid of me! Today, I serve as the Associate Director at CAPS, where I support student mental health and help mentor and supervise clinicians and trainees.

I am honored to be nominated for Staff Senate and am excited about the opportunity to contribute beyond my department. Working at WSU has given me the chance to collaborate with incredible colleagues across campus, and I value the opportunity to support and represent the broader staff community.

Photo of Melanie TidballMelanie Tidball

Hello! My name is Melanie Tidball, and I currently serve as the Database Manager for the Shocker Career Accelerator. I am a Wichita native and have worked at WSU since June of 2025. In that time, I've enjoyed meeting new coworkers and diving into the university community through varied campus connection opportunities. I have also been privileged to connect with the student body through Shocker Career Accelerator events and office engagement. Learning about WSU's accomplishments and development plans—and the students, staff, and faculty that make those achievements and plans possible—excites me for the future of Wichita!

I welcome the opportunity to serve my fellow staff members by presenting our needs to the larger Senate body, and ensuring my constituents are informed about important university information and happenings. I hope to clearly express the needs and desires of all I represent, and to diligently pursue paths to achieving the goals set forth by those I serve.

I am also interested in serving on the staff senate because I want to make new connections, share my pride in this institution, and help shape WSU's future. I would love the honor of continuing to serve as one of your Staff Senators. The past two years, I’ve been able to take a peek behind “the curtain” as to the wheels that grind to keep Wichita State humming. It’s not a secret, that the work is just starting regarding the b-word budget and the adjustments that will be impacting all of us here on campus. To continue to be the voice for you, would be an honor and a privilege, that I’ve never taken for granted.

I hope to continue to accomplish the best options for all of us and to continue to keep you informed as to the ‘whys’ and ‘hows’ of our campus! Thanks for the consideration!

Hello! My name is Logan Blunt. I am both grateful and honored to have been nominated to serve on WSU's Staff Senate. I work in the Undergraduate Admissions Office as a Regional Admissions Representative, where I am based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. With this position, I primarily recruit students in the Northeast Oklahoma area and in Arkansas. I have been with WSU for a year and a half but have been working in Higher Education for 4 years. Additionally, since starting at WSU, I have decided to pursue a Masters in Arts in Arts Leadership and Management, where I will be graduating this May.

After receiving the nomination and reading more about Staff Senate, I decided to accept the nomination because I see it as a way to give back to our university, support staff members in my area and others, and as an opportunity for growth within the higher education world. I am looking forward to the opportunity to being a representative for WSU and its staff. Thank you!

I have proudly served as the Administrative Specialist for the School of Music since July 2017. During my time at Wichita State, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside exceptional students, faculty, and staff, and I remain committed to strengthening the academic and staff communities that make our campus thrive.

I am running for re‑election to the WSU Staff Senate to continue the work I’ve begun in advocating for academic staff to have a meaningful voice in the evaluation and selection of their chair or director. This initiative is deeply important to me, and I am dedicated to seeing it through to completion.

Over the past two years, I have also greatly enjoyed serving on the Staff Senate Scholarship Committee, where I’ve helped award scholarships to staff members and their dependents. Supporting professional growth and educational access for our colleagues has been one of the most rewarding parts of my Senate service.  And, also working on the STRIVE Conference where staff come together for professional development.

I would be honored to continue representing and advocating for our staff across campus.

Photo of Caitlin BrunerCaitlin Bruner

Hi, Friends!

For the past 5 years at WSU, I’ve had the privilege of championing Shockers in meaningful, hands-on ways, most recently as the Success Coach for the College of Health Professions, a role that truly feels like home.

In my work, I don’t just support students, I advocate for them, amplify their voices, and help remove barriers to their success.  That same commitment drives my desire to serve on Staff Senate.

If elected, my goals are clear:

  • Advocate for staff voices to be heard, valued, and acted upon
  • Strengthen collaboration across departments to build a more connected campus
  • Champion growth and recognition opportunities for staff at all levels
  • Promote a culture of support and accountability where staff feel empowered to succeed

I am committed to being a representative who listens, communicates, and acts.  I appreciate your support in the upcoming election!

Hello! My name is Savannah Denny, and I currently work in the Student Engagement & Belonging office as the Marketing Coordinator. I have worked in SE&B for 3 years and have been part of the Wichita State community for over 6 years, beginning in 2019 when I started my undergrad in Graphic Design. I am now pursuing a master’s degree in Innovation and Design!

In my role, I lead visual communications and marketing for campus programs and student-led events. I strongly believe in the impact of design, both visual and systemic, and its ability to shape students’ experiences and influence how they engage in personal and community initiatives. My growing passion for innovation management and systems design has given me valuable perspectives on team dynamics, organizational growth, and community impact.

Through Staff Senate, I hope to serve as a fresh, authentic voice that supports employee engagement and identifies new opportunities to strengthen connection, communication, and commitment within our staff community. I’m grateful for the nomination and the opportunity to contribute to our campus in this way!

Photo of Samantha DiazSamantha Diaz

Hello! My name is Samantha Diaz, and I currently work as the Clinic Office Manager at the Student Wellness Center. I have been part of the Wichita State University community since 2022, and during that time I have developed a strong appreciation for the sense of community across campus and the dedication staff members bring to supporting both students and their colleagues. Seeing that commitment firsthand has inspired me to become more involved and contribute to strengthening the broader WSU community.

I am interested in serving on Staff Senate because I believe staff voices play a vital role in creating a positive and supportive workplace. Staff members are the backbone of the university, and it is important that our perspectives are represented when decisions and policies are discussed.

If elected, I hope to advocate for policy changes that support employee well being by listening to staff concerns and working collaboratively with university leadership. Ultimately my goal is to help foster a workplace culture where employees feel heard, valued, and supported in the important work they do every day.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my candidacy for Staff Senate!

Photo of Kevin DuffyKevin Duffy

My name is Kevin Duffy, and I serve as an Administrative Specialist in the Department of Psychology. Having been with Wichita State for four years, I am currently a member of the Staff Senate, where my primary focus is ensuring our university remains an exceptional place for all staff.

I believe in asking the tough questions, seeking transparency from leadership, and challenging the status quo when necessary. Because administrative decisions directly impact our daily lives, staff deserve a seat at the table to advocate for our collective best interests. To that end, my primary goal for this term is to ensure that staff voices aren't just heard, but are influential in the university's long-term planning. I aim to bridge the gap between frontline staff and administration to ensure transparency in every major decision.

True progress also requires the ability to collaborate. I possess the skills and dedication to work effectively with all parties to achieve meaningful results for the Wichita State community.

Hi! My Name is Constantine Gartelos, and I am excited and thankful to have been nominated to potentially serve on Staff Senate. I work in OneStop Student Services as one of the First Year Engineering Academic Advisors. I have been with Wichita state for around 2 years now, though I have worked in advising for over 4 years in total. I started my career in higher education at WSU Tech, working in admissions and as an advisor for 2 years over their pre-nursing students. My interest in  serving on Staff Senate stems from my passion for higher education and the wonderful things I have heard from other past participants about it. I hope to contribute to the positive environment that Staff Senate provides to the university, as well as the opportunity to represent our staff.

Hi Shockers! I am excited for the opportunity to serve you all on WSU’s Staff Senate. I currently serve as the Student Program Coordinator in the Office of Student Success: First-Year Programs, where I work closely with students to support their transition to Wichita State and help create meaningful campus experiences. As both a staff member and a proud alumna, I bring a strong understanding of university life and the needs of our campus community.

I graduated from Wichita State in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Media Arts and received my Masters of Arts in Communication in 2025. My time as both a student and staff member has given me a unique perspective on how our institution supports student success and the critical role staff play in making that possible.

My interest in serving on the Staff Senate comes from a longstanding passion for leadership and advocacy. Throughout my time at Wichita State, I have been committed to building community, supporting student development, and creating spaces where people feel heard and valued. While I may be newer to a formal senate role, I believe that fresh perspectives are essential when navigating the challenges and opportunities within university governance.

I believe that fostering open communication and collaboration across departments strengthens our university community and helps us better support both staff and students.

Professionally, I see the Staff Senate as an opportunity to continue developing my leadership while contributing to meaningful conversations that impact our campus. I am particularly interested in initiatives that support staff recognition, engagement, and retention, recognizing that the success of Wichita State depends on both our students and the dedicated staff who support them.

My name is Alysa Janner, and I have served as an Academic Advisor in the College of Fine Arts Academic Advising Office since January 2022. I began working at WSU in 2016 and have had the opportunity to support three different departments along the way. Recently I have completed training in Appreciative Advising through Florida Atlantic University,  and I graduated with my M.Ed. in Higher Education/Student Affairs in December 2025. As a single mom pursuing a degree and working full time, I feel as though I have found an even greater depth of commitment to supporting others and the many hats they wear, which I hope is reflected in how I serve the students I advise within the Schools of Music and Performing Arts.

I am interested in serving on Staff Senate because I genuinely care about people and the sense of community that makes Wichita State feel like home. In my work, I value connection, collaboration, and creating safe spaces where others feel heard, supported, and empowered. Hello, my name is Brady Marzolf. I am truly honored to be nominated to serve on Staff Senate. Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of serving the Shocker community in a variety of roles, and currently, as a Success Coach in the Office of Student Success, I work closely with students in the Barton School of Business to support their academic growth, persistence, and long-term success.

Since 2007, Wichita State University has played a transformative role in my life. Because of that, I am deeply committed to giving back to the institution and community that has given me so much. Serving on Staff Senate would allow me to continue that commitment in a meaningful way—by advocating for staff, strengthening collaboration across campus, and contributing to the shared vision of our university’s future.

Photo of Jennifer MoraJennifer Mora

My name is Jenny Mora, and I work as the Office Manager for the Physician Associate Program.  I will be celebrating my 10 year anniversary with Wichita State in July.  The first seven years were spent as Assignments Coordinator for Housing and Residence Life.  Within that role I oversaw the application, room selection, and cancellation processes, accommodation requests, and the appeals committee.  This role allowed me to work with many campus partners and attend admission events throughout the Midwest.  A high point of my experience was representing Wichita State at a national conference, speaking on creating inclusive processes for students with ADA and gender inclusive housing needs.  Within the Physician Associate Program, I again wear many hats.  Processing invoices for clinical preceptors, event planning, and documenting student experiences for social media all can happen on any given day.  The role of Office Manager gives me the opportunity to grow professionally and work with students, faculty and staff, and external partners in a variety of ways.

I have been very fortunate to hold positions that allow me to enjoy the work that I do and the people I work with.  Since joining the PA Program, I have also gotten to transition from Student Affairs to Academic Affairs.  While there are some differences, many of the needs and concerns of staff members are very similar.  I would welcome the opportunity to advocate for my fellow staff members if elected to University Staff Senate and look forward to serving the Wichita State community.

Photo of Barbara Myers Barbara Myers

I have worked at Wichita State University for a year and a half. I earned my MALS in 2020 with emphasis on history and public administration. My background includes local government, accounting and local history. I also founded a nonprofit that provides education and preservation support for the oldest cemetery in Wichita.

I am interested in serving the University staff because I feel that in this time of major institutional change, the WSU staff needs a stronger voice and representation. I feel that my past experience in local government and my education as historian have given me the skills needed to facilitate the conversation needed for the staff’s voice to be heard.

It is my sincere hope that if I am elected to be on the Staff Senate I will represent the needs of the staff to be heard. My highest priority is to continue to grow the ‘Admins Coming Together’ lunch and learn series, so that the office staff are able to provide more efficient support to the faculty and students at WSU.

Hello! My name is Camille Reid, and I work for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as Campus Visit Coordinator. I started this position in June of 2025, immediately upon graduating from Wichita State. With this opportunity, I hope to continue fostering a supportive and mission-driven environment for staff to thrive in. Throughout my undergraduate degree, and now as a staff member, Wichita State has given so much to me, and I look forward to being able to serve the staff that once served me.

I am recently transitioning to Kansas Kids@GearUp as an Administrative Specialist.

I have worked at Wichita State University for a little more than 5 years, 9 months as a temp agent and the rest as a full-time employee. During this time, I held the position of Office Coordinator with the Barton School of Business (3yrs, 9mos.) and Administrative Specialist with the University Police Department (2yrs.)

In my time here, I have become familiar with the campus and been involved in many efforts. I have embraced the culture of learning. Serving on the Staff Senate would allow me to provide a perspective from a multi-dimensional standpoint. As a native to Wichita, A veteran of the Armed Forces, a multi-ethnic person of color, an employee, student and parent of newly adult children. All of which affords me the insight to understand each scenario and provide methods that have served me and others well. Which leads me to what I would hope to accomplish. I would love to see more staff participation and investment in the concerns of the campus for the simple fact that they can share in the vision. In other words, see themselves, their purpose or a way that they can help or be part of the mission here. I believe this will strengthen the community here and draw others to the campus for one reason or more.

Hannah Vanorsby

Hello! My name is Hannah Vanorsby. I am honored to be nominated for University Staff Senate. I currently work in the College of Education Advising Office serving as the Academic Advisor for Human Performance Studies. My journey at WSU began back in 2021 when I worked with first-year students in the OneStop Office. During my time in OneStop Student Services, I was able to provide support to first-year College of Health Professions students during the pivotal transition from high school to college. I also had the privilege of working alongside faculty and staff across campus to ensure students had positive and impactful experiences. As an Academic Advisor, I have focused on student centeredness and ensuring students are meeting their educational and career goals. I enjoy having a positive impact on student lives and hope to extend my impact on campus through the University Staff Senate. It has been a pleasure to be a part of the Wichita State University community for over 5 years. I have worked alongside many departments here on campus and hope to continue collaborating and representing fellow staff through this nomination.

My name is Nichole Woods, and I serve as a Lead Academic Advisor for the College of Education. Following the completion of my undergraduate degree, I established a professional career in early childhood education. As a Head Start Educator, I was motivated to create a positive, safe, and compassionate learning environment that encouraged curiosity, fostered supportive relationships, and celebrated the individuality and diversity of students, families, and staff members to promote optimal learning and developmental outcomes. This experience inspired my passion for education, strengthened my understanding of advocacy, and my desire to contribute to a robust and effective learning community. Due to this experience, I chose to advance my education and professional experience at Wichita State University to continue facilitating advocacy, access to resources, and collaborative efforts in higher education.

I began my professional journey at Wichita State University in Fall 2022 with the Teacher Appreciation Program. Currently, I am proud to serve as an Academic Advisor for the Teacher Apprentice Program within the Department of Teacher Apprenticeship Pathways, Literacy, and Special Education. In my role, I am committed to advocacy and service, representing the university while serving as a resource for students, staff and faculty, and community members.

I am interested in serving as a member of the University Staff Senate to extend my commitment to advocacy and service. Moreover, I am adaptable in cultivating cross-departmental collaborations while serving as a knowledgeable resource on university policies and services.

With my professional experience and commitment to service, I believe that as a member of the University Senate, I would provide valuable contributions to enrich the professional alliance that fosters a collaborative network recognizing the significant impact of university staff and promoting the need for staff support and development. It is my goal to support collaboration to better understand the needs of staff and to intentionally align professional development opportunities.
