“I became highly involved at WSU, and with each new experience I rediscovered my passion for learning, my pride in my hometown, and my excitement for my future career, and even confidence in myself. Looking back, my path to becoming a Shocker was not the straightforward one I once imagined. But it was in finding my way back to Wichita State that I found so much more than a college. I found a community, a renewed love for education, and the place where I truly belong.”

“Through my work in scholarship programs, I’ve supported academic excellence and service, and in Sig Ep I’ve had the privilege of building a community that values growth, brotherhood, and leadership development. These experiences have allowed me to mentor peers, raise our chapter GPA, and represent WSU at national conferences, all while carrying Shocker spirit beyond campus. I take pride in showcasing Wichita State’s values of leadership, service, and community wherever I go.”

“Choosing Wichita State was an easy decision. After my visit, I felt a strong sense of community and belonging. As a business student, the professional connections that this University has are unmatched. Another factor was the involvement opportunities and the amount of diversity on campus. After growing up in a rural community, Wichita State showed a vast amount of new opportunities I could engage in to help me grow as a professional and as a person.”

“From the moment I stepped on campus I immediately felt welcomes, I made friends instantly, and I knew this is where I was meant to grow. Being a Shocker is about more than just classes. It’s about finding my voice as a leader, building lifelong connections, and embracing  every opportunity to give back to my community. Wichita State isn’t just my school; it’s a part of my identity. It’s the place that has shaped me into the leader I am today and has given me more than I could have imagined.”

“While after this year, my physical time on WSU’s campus will conclude, I hope the positive legacy I’ve begun to create does not leave with me. I’ve always believed in leaving things better than I found them. Whether it’s smiling at the RSC staff members or thanking my fellow Shockers for holding the classroom door open for me, I hope that with all my involvement and daily campus interactions, I can leave WSU 1% better than I found it, ensuring the seeds I planted continue to grow.”

“My journey to Wichita State began with uncertainty, but it quickly transformed into purpose. From discovering my passion for biomedical engineering to falling in love with campus during my tour, WSU became more than a university – it became my home. “I have been involved on campus almost from day one. While there is a diverse selection of involvement, it had been centered around making sure Shockers after me get more than I did coming on. Leadership and involvement have never been just about climbing the ladders and gaining titles, but leaving a legacy and trail of real positive influence in the lives of other Shockers, being the reason someone else can say they have loved being a Shocker.”

“In graduate school I will be pursuing my passion for criminal justice reform and help victims of crime and juvenile offenders get the resources they need early on, giving them the best chance at finding their own success and closure. To me, pursuing higher education is not just about getting a degree, it’s about improving the quality of life for countless individuals to come. With so much responsibility day to day I am so glad I can lean on my Shocker family whenever I need support.”

“To me, being a Shocker is about being a servant leader, a voice for others, and a proud representative of that values that make WSU so unique. I carry those values in everything I do, and I will continue to do so well beyond graduation. I hope to one day return to WSU as a professor, helping guide the next generation od Shockers just as this institution has guided me. I am proud to be part of the Shocker family, and I am deeply honored to represent our university.”
