Call for Abstracts for Oral Presentations

The Wichita State University School of Social Work invites you to join our 2027 POWER Conference! Our 24th annual conference theme is Humanity in Transition: Building Community and Strength for a Hopeful Future.

We bring together 300+ social workers, allied professionals, students, advocates, and community stakeholders and think this theme acknowledges that society - and therefore social work practice itself - is experiencing substantial shifts requiring thoughtful adaptation, creative solutions, and sustained commitment.

We are looking for compelling presentations, workshops, panels, and research that may explore areas such as these:

  • Mental Health & Community Well-Being
  • Men, Boys & Pathways Across the Lifespan
  • Cultural Knowledge & Responsive Practice
  • Organizational Capacity, Leadership & Ethics
  • Hope, Resilience & Practice Across Settings

Submission Deadline is September 14, 2026.
