Engineering students' project keep shoes out of landfills

March 10, 2021 – A class project in Kara McCluskey’s environmental engineering technology class last semester set out to tackle an immense issue: The fact that each year in America, 300 million pairs of shoes are thrown away, taking an average of 30 to 40 years for just one pair to decompose.

Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic and College of Engineering collaborate to improve child's communication

March 5, 2021 -- Students and faculty at the Wichita State Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic have teamed up with the College of Engineering to help a 9-year-old child communicate effectively.

Wichita State plans expansion of in-person classes and activities

March 9, 2021 -- Given the declining number of new cases and hospitalizations, as well as our increased capacity for rapid testing and effective vaccines, it is with cautious optimism that I share with you today that WSU has begun careful preparations for returning our campus to a more normal mode of operations for fall 2021. This includes an increase in in-person classes, as well as on-campus research, events, activities and community engagement.

Wichita State gains national attention for its support of transfer students

March 8, 2021 — Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) named Wichita State University as one of 150 colleges and universities to its 2021 Transfer Honor Roll in recognition of the dynamic pathways it has created to support transfer students.
