When you were a little kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
What made you choose Wichita State University?
Wichita State felt very inviting and the financial aid was very promising. I loved the dorms, and the nursing program seemed impressive!
Did you earn any scholarships?
Many, which I am SO thankful for. I received the DSI semifinalist scholarship, the Kansas nursing service scholarship, the Julia D. Laster CHP scholarship, the Morrison Merit scholarship, and two scholarships from Wesley Medical Center. They benefited my time at WSU by allowing me to focus on my position as a resident assistant and my studies as a nursing student.
What applied learning experiences did you participate in during your time here?
My biggest applied learning experience here at WSU is my clinical capstone, which I'm currently completing at a surgical intensive care unit at Wesley Medical Center.
What advice would you give other Wichita State students?
Be involved on campus. It'll make your time here much more enjoyable. It's OK if you're unsure about life. Just enjoy the journey.
What's next for this grad?
I have accepted an offer at Wesley ER as a registered nurse. I plan to return to graduate school in a few years to be a nurse educator or nurse practitioner.
