Laurie Sutton '07 is a NYC-based actor who recently starred as Laura in The Glass Menagerie, a role she first explored in scene study class at WSU. She has performed on stages across the U.S., with favorite theatre credits including Laurey (Oklahoma!), Judy (White Christmas), Dainty June (Gypsy), Cosette (Les Misérables), and Luisa (The Fantasticks). On screen, she has appeared on the Travel Channel, BuzzFeed, and in a campaign for Dunkin’.
Laurie and her sister, Lindsay Sutton, recently gave a voiceover workshop for our current students called "Character Voiceover Workout" on how to create a voiceover character, bring it to life, and apply it to copy. They worked with our students in real-world audition examples from Nickelodeon, Disney, Dreamworks, Cartoon Network, Anime, and Videogames. There was also a Q&A afterward.
