Office of Internal Audit

Internal Audit provides independent, objective audit and consulting services that helps the university achieve its objectives and fulfill its vision.

As required by the Kansas Board of Regents' Internal Audit Policy, the Director of Internal Audit has a direct reporting line to the University President on all audit matters.

The responsibility of the internal audit function is to serve the university in a manner that is consistent with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors.

WSU is the only institution among the state universities in Kansas to undergo a Quality Assurance Review. A QAR is a peer review of the audit function that is similar to accreditation for an academic program or college.

"My goal as Director of Internal Audit is to help foster a risk-intelligent community that is alert to and proactively manages risk at WSU."

Chris Cavanaugh, WSU Director of Internal Audit
