Office of Internal Audit

The responsibility of Internal Audit is to serve the university in a manner that is consistent with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance and advisory services that help Wichita State University achieve its objectives and fulfill its vision.

The Director of Internal Audit reports directly to the University President on all audit matters, as required by the Kansas Board of Regents' Internal Audit Policy.

WSU Internal Audit was the first Regents' university audit department to undergo a Quality Assurance Review, a review similar to an accreditation visit. WSU Internal Audit earned the peer reviewers' highest rating.

"My goal as Director of Internal Audit is to help foster a risk-intelligent community that is alert to and proactively manages risk at WSU."

Chris Cavanaugh, Director of Internal Audit
