WSU Internal Control All-Star - How You Can Earn a Credly Digital Badge
Internal controls help keep our resources applied to our mission and the university's arrow pointing up! When you earn the WSU Internal Control All-Star digital credential, you demonstrate your understanding of your vital contribution to the university's internal control system.
The WSU Audit Update Blog recently featured a 12-part "Your Role in Internal Control" series explaining the origins and components of internal control systems. Everyone has a role in internal control!
You can earn the WSU Internal Control All-Star - Credly digital badge by scoring 90 percent or better on a 70-question exam about the series. This is a free noncredit badge.
The exam will take you around 90 minutes to complete, depending on your previous familiarity with internal control concepts. The exam is in the form of a Qualtrics survey that you can access here:
I'm working with the Media Resources Center to update the episodes' video components. The new videos are an exciting enhancement to the badge program and should be ready early this summer! I have paused issuing all-star badges until the new videos are available.
The questions are generally in the order the information appears in the episodes. You may want to watch or rewatch each episode's video before answering some questions as you take the exam. It may also help to open the exam in a separate tab with a right-click.
Upon submitting the exam, you will see your score immediately, followed by your correct and incorrect answers. Qualtrics will forward your score and answers to me, Director of Internal Audit Chris Cavanaugh, for review and processing.
If you score less than 90 percent (which is rare), note your incorrect answers and retake the exam.
If you score less than 85 percent, please revisit the text pieces and rewatch the videos before retaking the exam.
From the first 40 credentials earned, eight scored 100 percent, and the average score was 96.4 percent.
I can visit you or your team to review the material and proctor the exam if you like. Let me know what works for you! I'm happy to answer any questions or comments about the material, the exam, or difficulties encountered at extension 5823 or by email at chris.cavanaugh@wichita.edu.
To your success!
