Orientation Refreshers are not mandatory. We recommend that students attend, as we offer some additional information and students can ask us any questions that they may have.

Graduate Assistant Training Spring 2026
If you are a new GTA (Graduate Teaching Assistant), you must complete the online training and also attend the in-person session.
Part of the training for new GTAs is done online, some in person. In-person training will be held on January 14th, 2025, 9 am - 1 pm, RSC Ballroom 3rd Floor.
If you are a new GRA (Graduate Research Assistant), you are strongly encouraged to attend the in-person sessions held from 11 am - 1 pm as part of the GTA training. Returning GRAs who did not take the training in the spring may also attend the session.

- a returning GRA (worked as a GRA in Fall 2025 but missed this training)
No if you
- are not a new GTA or GRA but are interested in being one. Taking this training will not increase your chances to be hired.

- Make sure your hiring as a GTA is completed. Please confirm with your department or program.
- Navigate to Wichita State's Blackboard Learn site at https://blackboard.wichita.edu
- Click the yellow box that reads "Log in with myWSU ID" and enter your username (myWSUID@wichita.edu) and password to sign in. If you have trouble, check the myWSU ID Password Setup instructions.
- Find and click on "Courses" in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the window.
- Select "GTA Training".
- Click on "GTA Online Training Spring 2026".
- Watch all videos and submit the corresponding certifications.
