Overview
George Stover, Chief Executive Officer of Rice Community Health, has overseen the operations of the organization for over 15 years. He oversees all strategic, operational, and clinical initiatives for the 25-bed critical access hospital.
His broad range of prior healthcare experience includes four years as the CEO for Rush County Memorial Hospital in LaCrosse, Kansas. Before that, he spent ten years at Ellsworth County Medical Center in a variety of leadership positions including Chief Financial Officer and Administrator of 4 rural health clinics.
Under George’s leadership, Rice Community Health has grown to include the hospital, Sterling Family Care, Lyons Family Care, and Noble Place Independent Living. Today, Rice Community Health has a workforce of over 180 employees and serves over 30,000 individuals throughout Rice County and Central-Kansas.
George is involved in state and federal advocacy efforts and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Kansas Hospital Association, most recently serving as Chairman of the Board. In addition, George has served on the USD 405 Board of Education, KASB Workers Comp Board, KSHSAA Board of Directors and KACHE Board of Directors.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Wichita State University.
When he’s not at the hospital, you will find him either on the golf course or behind a smoker. George and his wife, Trisha, have been married for 29 years and have 2 children who are both pursuing healthcare careers.
