Overview
Linda’s clinical nursing experience has been in various areas of nursing, with a specialty and national certification in Inpatient Obstetrics, with additional experience in High-risk Obstetrics, Women’s Health, Neonatal/Newborn, and Medical/Surgical. Linda has been a nurse for 40 years and spent over 25 years in nursing leadership and management positions, in a variety of acute care healthcare settings - from large medical centers to rural hospitals.
Information
Linda received her ADN and BSN degrees from Newman University, her MBA from Baker University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, in Organizational Leadership, from the University of Kansas. Linda was awarded the Jonas Nurse Leader Scholarship while completing her DNP, at the University of Kansas. In 2025, Linda was awarded a Wichita Business Journal’s Healthcare Hero for healthcare nursing and innovation.
Linda has been teaching nursing since 2003, as an adjunct instructor and then full-time faculty. She has also been the Director of two RN to BSN nursing programs. Recently, Linda was an Assistant Teaching Professor in the School of Nursing at Wichita State University for 7 years, prior to transferring to the Public Health Science department. Linda enjoys teaching students about the leadership operations in hospital systems.
Linda also works with HCA Healthcare as a Trauma Registry Abstractor. Previously her role was the Perinatal Care and NDNQI Data Analyst at Wesley Medical Center for 10 years. She has worked on various projects focused on operational leadership, collection of nursing workforce data, supporting nurses in the advancement of their education, addressing nursing shortage and staffing issues, improving patient outcomes, and supporting current and future healthcare leaders in their management roles.
