pointing with a pen at a chart - results - five dysfunctions

This is the final dysfunction in my Ultimate Team series! This recap of Lencioni’s The Five Dysfunctions of a Team has been a great reminder for me (and Team PPMC) to remember what kind of organizational culture we want to cultivate. We want to create a place where the work we do and the people who do it are thriving.

This is my fourth blog of our Ultimate Team series, and I’m excited to continue our discussion on creating high performing teams. All of Team PPMC has read one of my favorite management books, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, by Patrick Lencioni, which provides a roadmap to creating a culture where not only the work thrives, but so do the people. Thank you for going on this journey with us.

Ringing in a new year always brings an interesting mix of thoughts and emotions for me. It’s a time where motivation and determination are top of mind. We are expectant of change and growth in the coming year. At the same time, we look back on the year we’ve accomplished. The hardships, challenges, celebrations, and blessings.

Adding new members impacts the culture and dynamics of the team and recently the PPMC has added several new people. One of my favorite management books is The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, by Patrick Lencioni, which has helped us on this journey. The book provides a roadmap to creating a culture where not only the work thrives, but so do the people. The second dysfunction of any team is the “fear of conflict.”
