Association Scholarships, Hardship Funds and Funding

Please note: Current University Faculty and Staff who are currently enrolled as a student at Wichita State are not eligible to apply for any scholarships, hardship funds or access to Individual or Organizational funds from the Student Government Association.
Student Hardship Funds
This fund is intended only as a short-term financial solution for qualifying students experiencing extreme financial difficulties. Funding for this program is provided by the Student Government Association (SGA). Students may only receive this grant ONCE per fiscal year and the grant cannot exceed $1000. Only students in a degree-seeking program are eligible. These funds cannot be used as the down payment required to establish a payment plan with Financial Operations for past due balances. Additonally, these funds CANNOT be used to cover any costs of Tuition or Fees.
The Following Scholarships Are Now Closed Until Mid-Spring 2026
Application is Now Closed. The SGA Endowed Scholarship provides financial assistance to eligible students who are active either on-campus or active within the Wichita community.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
- Be a full or part-time undergraduate student at Wichita State University having attended WSU for a minimum of one (1) semester previous to applying for the scholarship
- Demonstrate on-campus and community involvement
- Preference is given to students with financial need
- May be renewed but the student must re-apply each year and maintain satisfactory academic progress
The SGA Summer Edowed Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to full-time summer semester students to support summer school.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
- Be a full or part-time undergraduate student at Wichita State University during summer
- Applicants must have completed twelve (12) hours at WSU in one (1) of two (2) semesters prior to the summer scholarship award session
- Demonstrate on-campus and community involvement
- Preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need from their FAFSA and a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
- May be renewed but the student must re-apply each year and maintain satisfactory academic progress
