Serving on the Student Government Association is an honor and a privilege. We thank
you in advance for considering to apply for one of our open positions within the Student
Government Association. Applications for the 65th Session are now closed.
The Executive Branch, leads the vision of the Student Body President and works to
further Senate actions and enforce Judicial orders. The Executive Branch manages the
programming, scholarships, outreach and engagement efforts for the Association.

The Legislative Branch consists of the Student Senate, which establishes policies
through legislation and annually allocates more than $9.5 million in student fees.
Senators represent specified portions of the Student Body, including each academic
college and certain demographics, such as veterans and out of state students.

The Judicial Branch includes the Supreme Court, which is comprised of Justices appointed
by the Student Body President and faculty appointed by the Faculty Senate. The Court
meets on a case-by-case basis to hear cases submitted by students and to ensure compliance
with the Constitution, Bylaws, and Statutes.

Freshman Leadership Council
The Freshman Leadership Council is an introductory program designed for first-year
students to get involved in student organizations, leadership & student government
from the very beginning of their college career. These students will have the opportunity
to attend a variety of programs put on around campus, while also having avenues to
work with the Student Senate to produce meaningful legislation that will enhance the
freshman experience and prepare students to take on an active role in leadership in
the Wichita State University Community.

The Elections Commission is charged with planning and executing of any and all Association
elections. Commissioner serve a 2-year term from November - April each year.

The Student Fees Commission is responsible for allocating University and Student Support Fees that are charged to all students enrolled at Wichita
State University. This Commission has one seat per College and meets once per week
starting after Fall Break and until the Hearings in February and March. Commissioners
must attend every meeting and must attend Hearing Week.
