Nov. 30, 2022 — After earning his bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in sociology, Daniel Baird plans to attend graduate school, where he will integrate clinical work with the handpan — a sort of convex steel drum that emits calming, hypnotic sounds — which he believes is a powerful therapeutic instrument. 

Nov. 30, 2022 - Wichita State earned “Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting” recognition from ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. It is one of 394 colleges and universities recognized for making intentional, nonpartisan efforts to increase student voter participation.

Nov. 30, 2022 — Delane Vaughn loved science and her biology teacher at Mulvane High School – Joe Johnson – started her on a path to Wichita State University as the first person in her family to attend college. She worked, raised a family and attended WSU and the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has partnered with Envision’s Arts Program to showcase five paintings from Savannah, a visually-impaired artist, in the new Woolsey Hall. Her work, which resides on the third floor of Woolsey, can be viewed any time during operating hours and is part of a rotating art installation with Envision in the space. Savannah’s art joins a variety of other original pieces from local artists located throughout the facility.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has named four recipients of $40,000 in scholarships for Butler Community College students interested in furthering their business education. These scholarships will help amplify and activate the coordinated “2+2” program between the two schools where Butler students will receive their associates degree and pursue a business degree at WSU.

Wayne and Kay Woolsey Hall, the new home of W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University, has a new, dynamic art installation sure to draw the eyes of passersby.

In association with the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has given three, multi-year scholarships to transfer students committed to joining the business program. This three recipients hail from three different community colleges across Kansas.

Two uniquely interactive sculptures have been installed next to Woolsey Hall, the home of the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University, as part of the Ulrich Museum of Art’s world-class Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection. Ernest and Ruth (2015) is a public sculpture that doubles as a bench and has the unmistakable shape of a speech bubble. Two of these sculptures are located slightly off the main traffic area leading up to Woolsey Hall to encourage interaction.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University and WSU Tech have named scholarship recipients who are participating in a joint pathway program. The two schools have committed $35,000 in scholarships for WSU Tech students committed to continuing their education with a business degree. The scholarships will be awarded equally to five students over the next two years.
