April 16, 2020 -- While hospitals and doctors’ offices are seen as the battlegrounds against COVID-19, there’s another group of medical professionals who are also on the front line: home health care workers.

April 14, 2020 -- Emerging Artists is an annual showcase of work by many of the best students in the School of Art, Design and Creative Industries. The March 14 event was canceled due to the novel Coronavirus. The group held a virtual awards ceremony through Facebook to celebrate the students' accomplishments.

April 1, 2020 -- Wichita State University's Center for Economic Development and Business Research (CEDBR) has created three visualizations to help policymakers, businesses and economic developers understand the level of economic vulnerability created by the novel Coronavirus.

March 27, 2020 -- Jeremy Hill and Wichita State’s Center for Economic Development and Business Research has identified the number of jobs, establishments, and wages classified as essential and nonessential, following the emergency order in Sedgwick County for individuals to stay-at-home and only leave their residence to perform essential activities.

March 19, 2020 -- One of the most vulnerable sectors impacted in the United States by the novel coronavirus is food services and drinking establishments, which accounted for 7.3% of all jobs and $1.6 billion in total wages within Kansas in 2018. The following examines the economic value of the industry and the potential impact on the Kansas economy.

Feb. 20, 2020 -- Dane Laughlin started working for INVISTA, Koch Industries’ textiles, polymers, fiber and resin producer, while he was a biomedical engineering student at Wichita State and got hired on full time after graduating in May 2019.

Feb. 10, 2020 - Wichita State Assistant Professor of Trumpet David Hunsicker partnered with WSU's National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) and WSU Ventures to create the Gapper, a flexible plastic device that helps musicians control the third valve slide on the trumpet.

Feb. 3, 2020 -- Levente Sulyok, associate professor of painting and drawing in the School of Art, Design and Creative Industries, installed two temporary, dynamic sculptures on Wichita State’s Innovation Campus. 

Jan. 23, 2020 - Wichita State graduate Marcus Wright used his applied learning experiences at the student newspaper and with the athletic department to start his career in digital media. After a season with MLB Advanced Media, he returned to Wichita State and works on photo and video for the athletic department.

Dec. 19, 2019 -- Eduardo Castillo won't let anything stop him from being successful. Even though having a speech impediment can make it more difficult to communicate, Eduardo has found a channel that best suits him. By telling his story through video, Eduardo feels like he can finally say what he wants to. Congratulations to Eduardo Castillo for being one of more than 1,100 students who were eligible to graduate this fall.

Dec. 16, 2019 -- Courtney Powers, music director at South Philadelphia High School, is in the running for a Grammy of her own for her work in music education. She is currently one of 25 quarterfinalists for the award.

Dec. 12, 2019 -- Stella Yang has served in many roles on campus since she enrolled in 2016, including business senator and treasurer of Student Government Association, as well as vice president of Asian Student Conference.

Dec. 11, 2019 -- Noah and Shauna Holloway are education majors in the Teacher Apprentice Program at Wichita State. They are parents of two who took classes while teaching full-time. They earned their degrees with help from family and by working with professors when life intervened.

Dec. 11, 2019 -- Wichita State senior Gavrilla Arya excelled as a biological sciences major and helped the golf team to the 2016 NCAA regional. A native of Indonesia, Arya earned academic All-American honors four times.

Dec. 10, 2019 -- During Sydney's time at Wichita State she took courses that influenced her experiences and career path. She's loved her time on campus and appreciates all the opportunities she's lucked into.
