5 Easy Steps


 

Five easy steps - step 1

Applying to Wichita State University is your first step toward becoming a student in the School of Performing Arts.

Step 2 is to register for the degree progam audition, interview, or portfolio review

Register for an audition/interview or portfolio review to be accepted into a degree program (Acting, Dance, Design & Technical Theatre, Musical Theatre, or Theatre). Check out Major for a Day as a to find out what it's like to be a major!

Apply for Federal Finance Aid assistance to determine need

This is the first step for financial aid. Complete the FAFSA and unlock the potential for thousands of dollars to help pay toward your college costs.

Step 4 Apply for SPA Scholarships

Complete the scholarship application for School of Performing Arts specific scholarships

Step 5 Enroll for classes

Schedule your advising appointment by visiting One Stop (new students) or CFA Advising (transfer students).

 

Important Dates

We have three dates that you don't want to miss! Major for a Day (10/09/26 or 2/26/27), & priority deadline for Scholarship/FAFSA applications (3/1/27).

We offer certificates in directing, stage management, voice acting, commercial dance, choreography, and dance & digital performance. Each of these certificates offers you a chance to enhance your degree with additional skills and make you a more marketable professional.

Computer Requirement

All School of Performing Arts majors are required to have a personal laptop computer. This requirement reflects the digital and technical nature of 21st century work in the arts. Students should plan to bring their laptops to all School of Performing Arts classes, unless exempted by the specific instructor of a class. Whatever your major, having a laptop will make you a more productive student - anywhere can become a creative space, allowing for collaboration and creativity at a moment’s notice.​
